WI Teacher Wins National First Place!

Marla J. Morgan, WI VFW NEWS Editor - 4/26/2019

Nominated by VFW Post and Auxiliary 2112 of Sparta,  Bobbie Schamens works tirelessly with Sparta area Veterans to teach her students civic responsibility, Patriotism and proper Flag Etiquette.  Special emphasis is placed on recognizing the services and sacrifices of Veterans and military families.

Drawing on her own experiences as a military spouse, she organizes cards for military care packages and recognizes local Veterans with a military tribute case near her classroom as well as numerous other projects with Veterans.

As the National First Place Elementary School Teacher of the Year, Bobbie receives a $1,000 award for professional development expenses; a $1,000 award for her school; award plaques for herself and her school and an all-expenses paid trip to a VFW Conference to receive the award.

Congratulations Bobbie and thank you for all you continue to do for your students, Veterans and your community!
